Ingredients and Materials:

Before diving into the process, gather the following materials and ingredients:

Step 1: Prepare Your Workstation

Set up a clean and organised workspace. Ensure you have all the materials within reach, and cover surfaces to catch any potential spills.

Step 2: Measure Soy Wax

Measure the desired amount of soy wax flakes based on the size of your chosen container. Soy wax is versatile and can be easily melted for candle making.

Step 3: Secure the Wick

Adhere the wick to the bottom center of the container using a stickem. Make sure the wick is straight and centered to ensure an even burn.

Step 4: Melt the Soy Wax

Using a double boiler, melt the soy wax flakes. Stir occasionally to ensure even melting. Use a thermometer to monitor the temperature, and avoid overheating the wax.

Step 5: Add Fragrance (Optional)

If you desire a scented candle, add some fragrance oil to the melted soy wax making sure to follow the instructions of of the specific fragrance. Stir thoroughly to distribute the fragrance evenly and slowly. 

Step 6: Pour the Wax

Allow the candle to cool and harden. If necessary, use a wick holder to keep the wick straight during this process.

Step 8: Trim the Wick

Once the candle has fully cooled and solidified, trim the wick to about 1.5 cm above the surface of the wax.

Step 9: Enjoy Your Handmade Soy Candle
